THROW IT AWAY

It’s incredible how pictures and videos send you back in time. Reliving laughter, pain, love, and some of your most cherished memories instantaneously. Through those moments, we realize how fleeting life can be. Yet, still, the feelings we gather never leave us. I believe music and dance also share that gift. The gift of life in time.

‘Throw It Away’ reigned as my favorite song from Summer Walker’s album, Still Over It, November 2021. It’s a cry for help, a plead for attention, and a soldier fighting for love once shared. Anger, confusion, disappointment, love, and resilience. I shared all of these feelings at the time; Not towards a lover or friend but towards my life and career. So after swooning over this album like the rest of the world, I began to create.

Looking at this video months later, I am filled with pride. This video will always mean something to me.

Thank you, Nia, for dancing w/ me, and Alexus, Jasmine, and Cynn for being the best yzy models I could ask for.
